Software Updaters

Click the file you wish to download, and save it to your hard drive. Note, these are EXE updates only and will not run properly without the support files for the current software versions. Please contact VS Software for full versions of the software if you are a new user or need an update from a previous version.

New SLED.EXE version 2.2 - fix for runtime error that occurs with 1 gig+ free disk space. This is a self-extracting EXE. Please replace SLED.EXE in your SLED directory with the extracted file.

New FG5.EXE version V.1 - fix for runtime error that occurs with 1 gig+ free disk space. This is a self-extracting EXE. Please replace FG5.EXE in your FontGen directory with the extracted file.


Printer Requirements

FontGen and SLEd both produce PCL™ bitmap fonts (also known as soft fonts or printer fonts). This is also the format of all of our custom and stock fonts. This font format requires an HP™ or compatible laser printer with a PCL/raster printer driver and soft font installer. If you do no have a PCL driver for your HP laser printer, please go to hp.com to download one.

The newer HP laser printers do no have soft font installers. If your HP PCL printer driver does not have a soft font installer, please go to hp.com and download a PCL driver for an HP printer that does have this installer (any in the LaserJet™ 5 series will work). For example, the HP LaserJet™ 1200 series does not have a soft font installer; however, you can use an HP LaserJet 5 PCL driver with this printer (which does have a soft font installer) and direct it to the proper LPT port (usually LPT 1).
